With the Second Annual Review of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield taking place just days prior, this event will offer two unique, timely, and balanced sessions with EU and U.S. speakers who will provide perspectives on the future of the transatlantic framework and its importance for both EU and U.S. consumers and businesses.
This programme's first forty-five minutes will feature a fireside chat, to be moderated by former Irish Senator and Retail Industry Executive Lorraine Higgins, during which the European Commission’s Bruno Gencarelli and U.S. Department of Commerce’s James Sullivan will provide their views on the future of the framework, as well as other global data transfer mechanisms.
The following twenty minutes will build on the fireside chat by bringing on two senior executives from EU and U.S. businesses that rely on transatlantic data flows for a moderated panel discussion. The panel will address government-industry collaboration to preserve international data flows and the importance of the framework for both EU and U.S. consumers and businesses.
Following the panel discussion, the floor will be opened for an interactive Q&A session with the audience. The event will begin and end with remarks from the host.
This event will be by invitation-only. Please contact Eugene McQuaid (eugene.mcquaid@freshfields.com) for more information.
