Florence Raynal began her career in 2000 within the Law Firm Donahue& Partners LLP in New York, where she participated in the setting up of their privacy offer of services and worked for 3 years on clients’ international compliance projects. Back to France, she worked as a Senior Manager within Ernst & Young Law Firm for 4 years where she advised on privacy matters at both national and European levels. She also advised Ernst&Young internally as Data Protection Officer (“Correspondant Informatique et Libertés”) and coordinated the firm’s privacy compliance programme for the 26 countries of the Continental Western European Area. In 2008, she was appointed Head of the International and European Affairs Department of the CNIL. She has advised the former CNIL President Mr. Alex Türk and now the current President Mrs. Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin in their Chairmanship of the Article 29 Working Party during 6 years. Florence has been working intensively on the WP29 implementation of the GDPR, the setting up of the EDPB and the Privacy Shield. She also participates in the activities and work of other regional fora (e.g. OECD, Council of Europe, APEC, APPA, and International Conference of Privacy Commissioners). Since the appointment in 2011 of Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin as member of the Executive Committee of the International Conference of Privacy Commissioners and in 2017 as Chairwoman of the Conference, Florence contributes with her team to the organisation of this global network of Data Protection Authorities. She also promotes the positions of the CNIL and European commonly shared positions by participating as speaker in conferences and by developing cooperation links with global counterparts and other stakeholders.
